Damages

Jane Byrne’s lawyer, Mike Arnold, of Employment Law 4U, said:  “Jane was furious at getting the sack. “But outraged at the comment she would easily get another job because she was pretty.

After initiating a claim herself through ACAS, Jane decided to engage the services of Mike Arnold of EL4U to escalate her claim as the Employer at the time, (Rumagin Ltd T/as The Prince of Wales Public House Hoath Kent) was not engaging with her or the ACAS Early Conciliation process.

EL4U assisted in getting an Employment Tribunal hearing. The Employer ignored this and a default Judgement was obtained. Next EL4U worked with Jane in drafting a Witness Statement for a Remedy Hearing to determine the amount of financial award. EL4U instructed Emma Sole of Stour Chambers Canterbury for the Remedy Hearing.

Awards were made for Owed Wages, Holiday Pay,  Notice Pay, Sex Discrimination and Cost were awarded also.  The story has made national headlines and reported in The Sun newspaper https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/5860298/sacked-barmaid-wins-1k-payout/
